    Dargah Sharif

    It is a sufi shrine well known all over India and thousands and lacs of pilgrims visit this place to visit the blessings of Khwaza Moinuddin Chishti. He was a revered saint of Sufi sect. The main gate to the entrance is Nizam gate which is followed by Shahjahani gate that was built by Shah jahan. The ‘urs’ or the death anniversary of the saint is celebrated every year with great pomp and show and huge number of devotees visits during the urs.

  • Ana Sagar Lake

    Ana Sagar Lake

    It is an arterial lake in Ajmer and was built by Anaji Chauhan, grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan in 1135-1150 A.D. The lake is spread around 13 kms and is one of the most beautiful lake in the entire country. It has an island in the middle of lake which is accessible by boats. This is the biggest lake in the city and nearby the lake there is a circuit house used which was used by the British earlier.

    It is another artificial lake situated near the city and was named after engineer who built it in 1892 under famine relief project. The water of the lake is spread about 14,000,000 sq feet and it is among the most popular tourist spots of the city. The lake holds special significance as it was constructed when the entire state was facing famine conditions.

  • Akbar’s palace and museum

    Akbar’s palace and museum

    This place is a must visit which was built in 1570 by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is one of the best visited places after Dargah Sharif and this monument was used as the guest house of Akbar. As Akbar was great devotee of Khwaza sahib so he visited Ajmer quite often and during his visit he stayed in this guest house. Now this place is a museum where various artifacts related to Mughal era are preserved and kept for public viewing.

  • Nasiyan Jain Temple

    Nasiyan Jain Temple

    This temple is dedicated to digambar Jain tirthankars. The temple is a double storey building which has gold plated wooden figures and behind the temple there is a hall which depicts Jain culture and the ancient world. In addition to this there is a library of rare Jain scriptures that are still used for research by scholars.
